Understanding The Holy Quran using Lego!

Bismilah,

M so excited to share this blog with you. I got stuck on this blog where I found beneficial info from Muslim kids books blog.

It’s worth visiting. Am waiting for subhana to get a bit older so that we can buy her Lego inshAllah.

Yes, that’s right, Lego; those plastic construction toy blocks. The blogger and designer, Mezba, uses his vast collection of lego to ’illustrate’ scenes and incidents narrated in the Quran. He then take a photograph of these scenes with the relevant ayah (verse) added in. The detail and vivid colours of the designs are amazing. What I find interesting is the ‘Prologue’ that precede the actual verses. These act as a sort of ’introduction.’

I think these illustrated ayat may be useful to parents and teachers when teaching children and even teenagers the meaning of the Qur’an. While we memorise the Quran in Arabic the majority of people attempt to grasp the meaning of the Quran in the language they know. At Teaching Kids the Holy Quran, the English translation is used.

Thus far there are mixed selection of verses from Makki and Madani surah. Up on the site now is Surah Al Zalzala (The Earthquake) showing an excellent depiction of the chaos that comes with the arrival of the last day.

Building blocks

Bismillah ,

Last month we bought simple big blocks so that she refine her skills to build objects by just  simple using her imagination. She likes to spend time in building different things. And we have recently gifted her jungle building blocks with animals of 65 pieces. She gets more excited whenever she constucts with them. But at the same time , the old blocks has the same importance with the new one.

Unit : Nuh’s (AS) Ark (stickers day)

Bismillah ,

Yesterday, subhana had stickers day .
Once , she asked me to tell a story about animals so I thought it was a great opportunity to introduce her this creation by Allah through Prophet Nuh (AS) story. Because , in my criteria of homeschooling and tarbiyah I don’t want to tell her fictional stories or fairy tales or Barney kind of thing . I mean not those characters which never existed. Anyways , after hearing the story of Nuh (AS) ,we did the following activities :
We borrowed a book of the same title from the library,
took out a poster related to Nuh’s Ark and a sticker book which
came along with the other books from Goodword Publishers . She really enjoyed sticking all animals . Completed in 3 to 4 days. And mashAllah she can tell the story by herself too alhamdulAllah! It’s a story book along with a story . If anybody wants to purchase this book , u can visit :

Good Deeds Pebble Jar !

Bismillah ,

For positive reinforcement , I set up a Good Deeds Jar for Subhana . I ask her to do good deeds whether it can be a little tiny good deed which inshAllah lead her to Jannah. For example , if  I ask her to clean up her toys or to finish her meal from the plate. She gets excited when I tell her that she is going to have  a good deed pebble in the “Good Deeds Jar” and if she does anything that makes me and her Baba angry simply implies in the same way Allah will get angry. So we will take out one good deed pebble from that jar and put it back from where we had taken it as a “Bad Deed Pebble”. AlhamdulAllah , after doing this , her vocabulary has also slightly increased. Plus , she is also keen to do more good deeds  mashAllah now.
